Online Ordering

This site can be used for online ordering if you are a CFD Dealer and have registered to use the catalog and ordering system. Registration info is below on this page.

Please refer to the Order Manual here for ordering help and info. You must be registered and logged in to read the ordering manual.

New CFD Web Site

What is the registration process?
Registration is an easy, three step process in which you will be asked to identify yourself and then create your own password.
  • Step One asks for your customer number, zip code and CFD membership status (see: Am I a CFD Member?).
  • Step Two asks that you confirm your identity by picking your own street address from a random list of addresses, and by entering the last four digits of your phone number.
  • In Step Three you will create your own password and enter an email address. The email address is required for site administration purposes and will never be sold or given to anyone.
Who can register for access to the catalog?
Any current CFD dealer in good standing can register for access to the interactive catalog. To complete the registration process you will need:
  • Your CFD customer number
  • A valid email address
Am I a CFD Member?
A CFD member holds 1000 shares of Class A CFD Stock and does $50,000 per year in business with CFD.
What features are password protected?
  • The searchable catalog, updated daily with information from our in-house network.
  • Pricing.
  • Quantities Available.
  • Direct Ship Programs.
  • Promotional Information.
  • The weekly commodities newsletter.
  • Market and CFD related announcements.
What features will be added?
We intend to continually add new features and content such as:
  • Shopping cart - the ability to put an order together using the web site.
  • Access to accounts receivable information.
  • Access to Additional Direct Ship programs.

Registration / Password

What is my password?
If you do not know your password there are two possibities:
  • You are a first time user and must register for this site and create your own password. (See: How do I register?)
  • You have registered for this site, but forgot your password. (See: How does the Forgot Password form work?)
How do I register?
You must be a CFD customer and you can register online. Below the log in form there is a link that says 'Dealer Registration' which will lead you to step one of a three step registration process. The first two steps will verify your identity. In step three you create your own password.
How does the Forgot Password form work?
No one at CFD knows or can find out your password. If it is lost, the Forgot Password form asks you to identify yourself and then delivers a new, randomly generated, 10 character password to the email address entered at registration. You should COPY and PASTE this new password into the Log In form because it may be difficult to re-type - sometimes zeros look like the letter O, etc. Once Logged In with the new password, it is recommended that you use the Change Password form and update the password to something more memorable.
Am I a CFD Member?
A CFD member holds 1000 shares of Class A CFD Stock and does $50,000 per year in business with CFD.

Session / Log In

Why can’t I log in?
  • Cookies must be enabled.
This link goes to the eBay help page with information about how and why cookies work.
  • Timing might be too quick.
Ten seconds must have elapsed between a login failure and your next login attempt. If you are too fast, even the correct information will fail authentication.
Why do I get kicked out of my session?
For security purposes, your session will expire if you’ve been inactive for 20 minutes.
Why doesn’t my password work?
Passwords are case sensitive. (Usernames are not.) If you have trouble logging in, check that your 'Caps Lock' is off.

Catalog

Where are the prices and the shopping cart?
How to activate pricing. At this time, the catalog is for informative purposes only. We will be adding more features as they are ready, leading to online ordering.
This pricing is turned off by default so that dealers can use this site to show products to their customers without exposing costs. Use the Price Display drop down menu (shown in image) to turn price on or off.
When the price is activated, two columns will appear on the right of the catalog table with the 'Unit Price' and 'Best Price' listed. The 'Unit Price' is the price per Sold By Unit. If an item is on special or if there are quantity breaks, that item will have several prices on file. The 'Best Price' is the lowest possible price. If 'Best Price' differs from 'Unit Price' it is indicated with red text. An asterisk (*) next to the price indicates a monthly special price.
At this time the catalog does not contain Contract Pricing. The catalog does not contain Suggested Retail Price.
To Get the Complete Price Breakdown and Quantities Available
Price Breakdown and Quantity Available. Just click on the underlined CFD SKU in the catalog table. (Not the column headerthese are used to sort the table.) Click the CFD SKU for the item in which you are interested and you will go to the 'detail page' for that item. On the detail page (if price is activated) the price breakdown is found below the image and the Quantity Available is found below the price breakdown.
Are Price and Quantities Available Maintained in Real Time?
Price and quantity available are updated with data from our in-house system twice daily. On the My Account page and on any item Detail page, you will find the date and time at which price and quantity available were last updated. The data is a 'snapshot' from a particular point in time. These numbers are to be used as a guide but they are not guaranteed and they are not 'live' or 'real time'. All prices and quantities available are subject to change without notice.
How Can I Traverse Pages or Show All Matches on One Page?
There is a 24 rows per page limit on anything selected from the Primary Catalog Navigation.
Certain categories and/or custom searches could bring back hundreds, even thousands of matches. Such an abundance of information has proven to cause some systems to 'crash'. To prevent this, we have placed a 24 rows per page limit on custom searches, categories and anything selected in the Primary Catalog Navigation.
How to change rows per page. For queries with more than 24 matches, you will need to use the Secondary Navigation to completely browse your results. As shown in the image, you can use the drop-down menu to change the number of rows per page with the option to show ALL rows. Use the buttons to go to the FIRST, LAST, PREVIOUS or NEXT pages. Or you may chose a specific page from the 'Page' drop-down menu.
How can I sort the catalog table?
The default sort setting is by ‘CFD SKU’ ascending (from lowest to highest). Select an option from the 'Sorted By' menu to sort by that field in ascending order. Select the same option again to sort in descending order.
Why do some items have more information than others?
If an item has not been assigned a name or description, the invoice description is used in its place.
Where are the direct ship items?
If you are logged in, look below the CFD logo for the ‘MyCFD Links’ drop-down menu. By clicking this menu, you will see a list of links to protected areas of the site. On this menu is a link to Direct Ship Programs. We offer a page with information and links about some of our direct ship programs.
How does the custom search work?
The search field looks for matches in:
  • Name
  • Invoice Description
  • Description
  • Category
  • Subcategory
  • UPC
  • CFD SKU
  • Model / Part Number
  • Vendor
Does the search have to be an exact match?
A CFD search is not quite as powerful as, for example, a google search. It is better at matching single words than phrases. It will match phrases if it finds the exact phrase. The search function puts a 'wild card' on the beginning and ending of your search terms. For example, a search for 'oat' would match 'oat', 'oats' and 'goats'.
This is helpful so that you can search on the final digits of a UPC without entering the prefix.
Do all items have pictures?
This icon: Demonstration of the Camera Icon indicates there is a picture available for that item. Click the camera to show the image in a pop-up window. Or click the CFD SKU to go to the detail page and see the image.

General

Why is some text underlined?
All underlined text indicates a link to another page or another section of the current page. This site does not use underlined text for emphasis or for any reason other that to indicate a link. Usually, the text that is underlined should give an indication of what to expect when clicked.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
Alt+S (PC) or Ctrl+S (Mac) in the catalog section will place the cursor in the Search field.
Alt+U (PC) or Ctrl+U (Mac) will put the cursor in the Username field if you have not logged in.
Alt+P (PC) or Ctrl+P (Mac) will put the cursor in the Password field if you have not logged in.
Other keyboard shortcuts are indicated by an underlined letter.
Why don’t the drop-down menus work?
Javascript must be enabled. Javascript is enabled by default in most browsers. Some browsers allow you to disable Javascript. Doing so will greatly reduce the functionality of the navigation of this site, but additional menus exist for those without javascript.
